How I got here
I stumbled into endurance sport. It changed how I think about training and health.
I was a hurdler and sprinter in high school, allergic to anything over 400 metres. Through university I lifted and kept bulking. I thought I was healthy because I was exercising.
During chiropractic school I developed health problems nobody could explain. Six months and a lot of money later, the scare was over, but it changed me. Exercising and being healthy are not the same thing, and nobody in the fitness world had told me the difference.
Basketball was the first real cardio I'd done in years, and I started feeling good again. Back in Canada, broke and waiting to write my licensing exams, I joined a run club because it was the cheapest way to keep moving. I felt even better. Then I started cycling to work and fell in love with that too, and picked up jiu-jitsu and judo. Strength and endurance together turned out to be worth far more than either one alone.
How I see pain
I don't see a list of symptoms. I see how much you train, how strong you are, how you move, and what it'll take to get you back.
Before I was a chiropractor, I spent more than ten years as a strength and conditioning coach. I kept watching the same pattern: an athlete gets injured, gets patched up, gets cleared, goes back to training, and gets injured again. Cleared for what? Nobody had tested whether they could handle the load they were going back to.
Most of the athletes I see now have already been everywhere. Massage, stretching, adjustments, a laser and a handful of exercises. They got bits and pieces, never a proper plan.
So I built the Endura Method around what was missing: clinical treatment and strength coaching in one plan. A clear read on what's wrong, simple tests we can track, and progressive loading tied to your training. How often you come in changes as your needs change.
I'll always be straight with you. If I can help, I'll explain what we're testing and why. If you need less care, or someone else, or nothing more at all, I'll tell you that too.
