Chiropractor for runners in Toronto The chiropractor
who actually runs.

As a chiropractor for runners in Toronto, Dr. Devon hears the same story: it kept coming back. You rested, it settled, you built your mileage back up, and there it was again. Dr. Devon Savarimuthu, DC, CSCS looks at the loads that created it: cadence, stride, hip control, ankle motion, training spikes, and strength gaps. You leave day one with a working diagnosis, a plan, and clear rules for what running you can keep doing while we rebuild.

Short Answer

How Endura treats running injuries

Endura treats running injuries by assessing the painful area, the task that provokes it, and the loads the runner needs to tolerate. Dr. Devon may check stride, hip control, ankle motion, training changes, and strength. Then the rehab progressively builds the capacity your mileage demands. You leave the first visit with a working diagnosis, a baseline, and clear guidance on what running you can keep doing.

"Dr. Devon Savarimuthu, DC, CSCS, says: 'The route, recent training, the painful task, and the runner's current capacity give us clues. The assessment decides which clues matter.'"

Why runners come to Endura

Most running injuries don't come from a single event.

They can emerge when training demand exceeds what a tissue or movement system can currently tolerate. The painful area still needs to be assessed, along with the joints above and below it and the recent changes in mileage, pace, terrain, strength work, sleep, and recovery.

Devon holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designation in addition to his Doctor of Chiropractic. That matters because a running plan has to respect mileage, pace, terrain, strength capacity, and the point in your training cycle where the pain showed up.

Rest alone rarely fixes it. It lets the pain settle, but the tissue doesn't get stronger, so the same mileage finds the same weak link. You leave the first visit with a working diagnosis and a plan to rebuild it, and you keep running where it's safe.

Conditions treated

What Dr. Devon treats at Endura

IT band syndrome

Lateral knee pain that worsens on descents or later in a run. The assessment checks the knee, hip capacity, cadence, and recent load.

Runner's knee

Anterior knee pain on hills, stairs, or sustained effort. Several local and training factors can contribute, so the knee still needs to be assessed.

Plantar fasciitis

Heel pain that may be worse on the first steps of the morning. The plan considers local findings, calf capacity, footwear, and recent running load.

Achilles tendinopathy

Stiffness that may ease during warm-up and worsen later. Tendon loading is progressed according to irritability and running goals.

Shin splints

Diffuse shin pain in new or recently increased runners. Training load, footstrike pattern, and surface transitions all factor in.

Sciatica in runners

Leg symptoms that can resemble hamstring or deep gluteal pain. Lumbar, hip, and neurological findings are compared before treatment.

Hip flexor pain

Anterior hip pain or clicking during running. The hip, lumbar spine, training load, and symptom-provoking tasks are assessed together.

Post-surgical return to sport

ACL, labral repair, rotator cuff. A structured return-to-running protocol with load progression and biomechanical monitoring.

How it works

Back to training. With a plan.

First visit

Assess and treat

Movement, physical tests, and case history establish a working diagnosis and a baseline. Treatment begins when appropriate, with clear guidance for the next stage of training.

Early care

Rebuild

Visits can be closer together while an injury is acute. Each session progresses the load, strength, or running task you need, well past easy drills.

Progress review

Return

We retest what set it off, under running load, before you push again. If the plan isn't working, Devon changes it or tells you when your case needs something else.

“I've been dealing with a sports hernia / adductor tears for around a year now and have bounced around between various physios and chiros trying to solve this injury. Over the past 6 weeks I've made tremendous progress in my recovery with Devon and I'm confident it will only continue to get better.”
